Today was Gotcha Day!

Today was THE big day - Gotcha Day.

We were all awake by about 5:00 a.m. this morning. Our internal schedule hasn't matched up yet! We were really happy to be able to see Benjamin and Katie via the webcam this morning too!!!
We had all morning to lolligag about. First thing was the usual glutonous breakfast buffet at the White Swan - no weight loss on this trip! Then we spent about an hour at the swimming pool. If any of you out their know Kristi Struhbar, we found out she was here adopting her third daughter after we got here. We ran into them this morning and got to chat with them at the pool this morning too. Did I mention it's incredibly hot and humid here?

At 2:30 we headed to the Civil Affairs Office for the official hand-off. We got there and were ushered into a medium size room with a giant group of Spanish families who were adopting as well. It was very crowded!

We got Claire. She did really well at the hand-off, as soon as she got some Cheerios and Gerber cereal puffs!!! We got back to the hotel, and there was a little bit of crying before she crashed. She is currently still crashed, as is Emma.

Dinner tonight = Papa John's (better ingrediants, better pizza).

We're feeling pretty good, albeit tired. We go back tomorrow to finalize the adoption.

Although we just got here, we really cannot wait to get home with Claire!!!
