We made it to Guangzhou!!!

We had a really good trip to China. Our flight left Saturday morning at 7:10 from Oklahoma City to Minneapolis. We had a 6 hour layover there that was wonderfully broken up by my brother, Jeff and his wife Tasha, who now live about an hour south of Minneapolis.

We spent about 3 hours at the Mall of America, including lunch at Bubba Gumps (we had shrimp), before heading back to the airport.

The biggest blessing we had was a not very full flight and being able to spread out over 5 seats between the 3 of us on the long flight to Tokyo (12.5 hours). We all got at least a few hours sleep. The flight from Tokyo to Guangzhou was a puny 5 hours.

We were picked up at the airport with the help of our guide, Rebecca, who we know we're going to like a lot already. It's just a little before 1:00 a.m. in Guangzhou now, and we're about to go to bed at the White Swan Hotel.

Emma is the best little traveler ever! She bounces every step of the way.

Benjamin and Katie, we love you so much and are missing you already! We know that you must be having a good time with Grandma and Aunt Teresa.

We'll post some pictures tomorrow. Tomorrow is a free day with nothing substantive to do. Tuesday is Gotcha Day, when we will get Claire.

Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers.

Byron and Kirsten.

Been watching the blog for updates. So glad you made it safely! I have been constantly thinking of you three (almost four) and can't wait to hear some more about your adventures. Sarah is anxious to see her new cousin and keeps asking about you being in China. Love you all very much!
